The Kasari Lab was established in 1997 and is part of the Center for Autism Research and Treatment at the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Connie Kasari, the principal investigator of Kasari Lab, has been actively involved in autism research for over 30 years and is one of the world’s leading experts in autism research and treatment.
The Kasari Lab is devoted to creating interventions that are effective, evidence-based, and able to be implemented in everyday settings.

Intervention
Our primary focus is intervention for young kids with autism. Some of the interventions we focus on include JASPER (Joint Attention, Symbolic Play, Engagement, and Regulation) a play-based intervention based on developmental and behavioral principles; Remaking Recess, Self-Determined Learning Model of Instruction (SDLMI), etc.

Research
Our team is conducting a wide range of research studies for children with ASD targeting social skills, communication, joint attention gestures, and a number of other difficulties common to children with ASD.

Community
The Kasari Lab works closely with local community members, parents, and teachers to tailor research and treatments to the existing needs of the autism community. Our goal is to learn more about the specific challenges faced in the school, home, and community settings and to create interventions that address these needs.
